Collapse spectra of cloud turbulence
The collapse spectra of cloud turbulence are obtained from the governing equations of the self-gravitating system. The spectra can be used to explain the observed scaling behaviour of the internal velocity dispersions and macrostructural density inhomogeneity in molecular clouds.
متن کاملOn the Hydrodynamic Interaction of Shock Waves with Interstellar Clouds. II. The Effect of Smooth Cloud Boundaries on Cloud Destruction and Cloud Turbulence
The effect of smooth cloud boundaries on the interaction of steady planar shock waves with interstellar clouds is studied using a high-resolution local adaptive mesh refinement technique with a second-order accurate axisymmetric Godunov hydrodynamic scheme. A three-dimensional calculation is also done to confirm the results of the twodimensional ones. We consider an initially spherical cloud wh...
متن کاملThe Effect of Micro Turbulence on Quartz Flotation Rate
In this research, the effect of micro turbulence on the flotation rate of quartz particles was investigated. The maximum particle Reynolds number (Rep) was obtained at 60.25 with a particle size of -500+420 µm, impeller speed of 900 rpm, bubble surface area flux of 10.21 1/s and micro scale turbulence size of 162 µm. When the micro turbulence size was equal to the particle size, ...
متن کاملSupersonic Turbulence in the Perseus Molecular Cloud
We compare the statistical properties of J=1→0 CO spectra observed in the Perseus Molecular Cloud with synthetic J=1→0 CO spectra, computed solving the non–LTE radiative transfer problem for a model cloud obtained as solutions of the three dimensional magneto–hydrodynamic (MHD) equations. The model cloud is a randomly forced super–Alfvénic and highly super–sonic turbulent isothermal flow. The p...
